A coalition of think tanks and public policy experts sent a letter to the U.S. Senate urging them to oppose the nomination of Gigi Sohn because of her radical partisan views. The letter says that the potential for Sohn to become chair of the FCC makes her nomination very concerning, because confirmation would jeopardize investment and innovation, threaten free speech, and bring partisanship to the FCC. For these and other reasons, the letter urges Senators to reject Sohn’s confirmation.

The FCC must remain an independent agency and embrace ideologies harmful to consumer choice and market solutions. The letter is available online.
