This year, the American Consumer Institute (ACI) reached new heights in its mission to promote consumer welfare for all Americans, by enhancing the understanding of how public policies and regulations impact consumers in a free market.

Through 10 in-depth reports, 130 compelling op-eds with publications across the country, and 78 insightful blog posts, ACI tackled critical issues such as healthcare reform, artificial intelligence regulation, and economic competition.

Grounded in rigorous economic analysis, each publication empowered policymakers and the public with transparent, data-driven insights that prioritize consumer sovereignty and informed decision-making.

Beyond research, ACI amplified its impact through 16 highly influential events that brought our work to lawmakers and their staff, 11 educational videos, all while participating and leading coalition-building efforts, including 18 coalition letters and 27 public comments.

These initiatives brought together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to foster meaningful dialogue on reducing regulatory burdens, promoting fiscal responsibility, and ensuring that government actions deliver more benefits than costs.

True to our commitment, ACI’s work reflected the use of empirical studies and economic tools to measure consumer welfare, rather than relying on conjecture or political fads.

Founded on the belief that consumers’ interests often go underrepresented, ACI stands as a reasoned voice for economic policy issues that affect society as a whole.

By focusing on policies that enhance competition, reduce excessive taxation, and empower consumer choice, we remain dedicated to advancing consumer welfare in measurable, impactful ways.

As we look toward 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering research that upholds the principles of consumer sovereignty, fiscal responsibility, and free-market solutions that work best for consumers.
