Arlington, VA – The American Consumer Institute (ACI) commends EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin for taking decisive action today to implement what has been declared the “largest deregulatory initiative in U.S. history.” The EPA’s announcement of 31 regulatory rollbacks marks a significant step toward revitalizing America’s automotive, manufacturing, and energy industries, which have long been burdened by restrictive and unrealistic regulations.

By lifting these costly restrictions, the administration is not only fostering economic growth but also reducing the cost of living for consumers who have struggled under the weight of high prices. One key reform includes the reconsideration of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards for cars and trucks, ensuring that American consumers can choose the vehicles that best suit their families—rather than being pushed toward electric vehicles by government mandates.

ACI Policy Analyst Kristen Walker praised the move, stating:

This is a great day for American consumers, who will finally see relief from the rising costs that have strained household budgets for years. As regulatory burdens ease and the cost of doing business declines, we can expect to see price reductions across industries, benefiting families nationwide.”

ACI will continue to support policies that promote economic prosperity, consumer choice, and regulatory balance.
