Arlington, VA- A coalition of signatories have cautioned lawmakers against tariffs on essential goods and raw materials which could undermine economic gains by driving up consumer costs. The letter highlights specific concerns, including tariffs on steel and aluminum, which could raise grocery prices; lumber tariffs that may inflate housing costs; and tariffs on energy, pharmaceuticals, and automobiles, all of which could impose additional financial burdens on American families.

The coalition urges policymakers to pursue trade strategies that alleviate inflationary pressures and sustain economic momentum, ensuring that American households and businesses are not burdened by unnecessary costs.
