Arlington, VA— We are thrilled to announce that Lenny McAllister has joined the Board of Directors at the American Consumer Institute.
A Pittsburgh native and nationally recognized voice in media and policy, Lenny brings a wealth of experience and insight to our organization. Every Monday morning on Newsradio KDKA’s The Big K Morning Show, listeners hear what many already know: “Lenny McAllister is a man that wears many hats.” Indeed, Lenny’s career spans decades in media, public policy, education, and civic leadership.
Lenny is a member of the 2024 Marconi Award-winning team at Newsradio KDKA, where he serves as a political analyst and hosts a weekly three-hour broadcast. Over the years, his commentary has reached audiences on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Sirius XM Radio, CBC in Canada, and Radio New Zealand. He has written for publications including The Dallas Morning News, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, The Root, PennLive, and The Charlotte Post, offering a grounded and thoughtful perspective on domestic and international issues alike.
Beyond the newsroom, Lenny has a deep commitment to public service and education. As a Senior Fellow (and former Director) at the Commonwealth Foundation, he has led critical policy conversations. He also served as CEO of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools during a time of cultural and educational upheaval, helping navigate challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lenny has advised leaders across the political spectrum, including former RNC Chair Michael Steele, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., and U.S. Senator Thom Tillis. His experience spans classrooms, boardrooms, and national stages—from CPAC to the Essence Music Festival—always with a focus on advancing opportunity, equity, and liberty.
We are honored to welcome Lenny McAllister to our board. His unique blend of policy acumen, media savvy, and principled leadership will be an invaluable asset as we continue to pursue our mission.
Please join us in welcoming Lenny to the ACI family.
