Public Comments: Regulatory Barriers for the FCC to Delete, Delete, Delete

Arlington, VA—The American Consumer Institute (ACI) submitted comments to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In this proceeding, the FCC seeks comments to identify and eliminate rules that impose undue and unnecessary regulatory burdens that discourage investments, decrease innovation and deployment, and inhibit the modernization of networks that would provide increased capabilities and services.

In the submitted comments, ACI highlighted some regulatory rules that need to be streamlined and deleted. These rules have long outlived any usefulness and now impose costs on providers and consumers, create delays, and add unnecessary uncertainty for investors, thereby increasing the cost of capital. Eliminating these impediments will work to heighten intermodal competition, encourage innovation and investment, and improve consumer welfare.
