Arlington, VA-The American Consumer Institute (ACI) has joined the National Taxpayers Union and several other organizations in urging substantial revisions to the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) proposed enforcement policy statement on personalized pricing.
The coalition calls on the FTC to define personalized pricing narrowly as an individualized transaction price based on data specific to the consumer receiving it, and to require proof of every element of deception or unfairness, including evidence linking personal data to the price charged and any claimed injury. .
